SOAP Project Logo

The SOAP consortium is funded by the European Commission and coordinated by CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. It includes key stakeholders in open access, such as publishers BioMed Central, SAGE, and Springer; funding agencies like the UK Science and Technology Facilities Council; and libraries such as the Max Planck Digital Library of the Max Planck Society. The project ran for two years, from March 2009 to February 2011.

The SOAP Project is currently conducting an online survey to assess researchers’ experiences with open access publishing. This survey aims to provide the most comprehensive analysis of attitudes toward open access publishing to date and seeks input from a broad range of interested parties. It is primarily aimed at active researchers in both public and private organizations across all fields of science and humanities, focusing on the publication of research articles in (open access) peer-reviewed journals.

If you would like to contribute to shaping the public discourse on open access, please visit http://surveymonkey.com/soap_survey_g.

The survey takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Please share this information with your research collaborators to ensure that your community’s perspectives are well-represented.

The survey results will be made public and openly shared with publishers, research funding agencies, the European Commission, libraries, and researchers.

Thank you in advance for your participation. — The SOAP Project & JAAI Editorial Teams
